Luxury hotels need more than great rooms to keep guests coming back, they need experiences worth returning for.


To help Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour drive weekend visitation and increase food and beverage revenue, Barking Owl Communications partnered with illustrator Megan Hess to bring her much-loved Claris the Mouse character to life through a bespoke high tea experience.


The campaign combined partnership development, event management, media relations, influencer engagement and celebrity hosting to generate awareness and bookings. The launch event welcomed around 50 media and influencers, generating more than 30 social posts, over 100 Instagram Stories and strong coverage across family, lifestyle and event media.


The Claris High Tea Series sold out throughout the campaign, leading to an extension of the experience and delivering ongoing revenue and brand awareness for the hotel.
